J. Stephen Sims, R.P.Bio.

Stephen is an owner and director at Sartori and an Registered Professional Biologist (R.P.Bio.) in good standing with over 17 years of environmental consulting experience. He is actively involved in a wide range of project sectors, including residential, utility maintenance and operation, and large-scale infrastructure development. His ability to triage complex environmental challenges and broad understanding of biological and construction processes supports successful project development and implementation. Stephen’s understanding of municipal, provincial, and federal legislation, regulation and policy is key to ensuring project compliance.

Stephen is well versed in fish inventory and habitat assessments, fish habitat enhancement design, water quality monitoring programs, ecological contaminant studies, land use studies, construction monitoring, and mitigation planning. He has designed numerous habitat restoration projects as well as developed landscape restoration plans. He is RAPR (Riparian Areas Protection Regulation) certified and regularly completes RAPR assessments as part of Environmental Development Permits (EDP).

Stephen’s ability to initiate/manage technology and technological advancements in projects adds value and cost savings for our clients. He is proficient with digital drafting programs, such as GIS and AutoCAD, as well as data tracking systems, and remote censoring technology, and has developed numerous habitat mapping systems for projects throughout British Columbia.
