The Riparian Areas Regulation (RAR) is enacted under Section 12 of the Riparian Areas Protection Act (2016) by the Government of British Columbia. Riparian areas are those areas that border bodies of freshwater and are essential to fish and fish habitat. The regulation charges local governments with the responsibility to protect riparian areas during residential, commercial, and industrial development by ensuring that proposed activities are subject to a science based assessment conducted by a qualified professional.

Sartori Environmental is experienced with both residential and commercial RAR analyses and works closely with local governments to ensure that riparian areas are protected and mitigated against risk into the future.
