Port Mann Highway 1 Project

Timeframe: 2008 – 2015

This 2.46 billion dollar project included construction of a new Port Mann Bridge, demolition of the previous Port Mann Bridge, as well as widening and upgrading of Highway 1 from the McGill Street interchange in Vancouver to 216th Street in Langley.

Sartori Environmental began services on PMH1 for Segments 2 and 4 of the project in 2008 and took over responsibilities for Segment 1 in 2012 and Segment 3 (Port Mann Bridge segment) in 2014. Our roles included:

  • Completing weekly environmental reports
  • Water quality sampling and analysis
  • Construction monitoring of environmentally sensitive works
  • Aquatic and Terrestrial wildlife salvages
  • Songbirds, raptor and other wildlife surveys
  • Review and approval of contractor work plans
  • Liaising with the Ministry of Environment and Fisheries and Oceans Canada
