Park Lane Dam prior to decommissioning.

The Britannia Mine opened in the early 1900’s and ceased operations in the mid 70’s; it was one of the largest copper producing mines in the province. During mine operations, several dams were built on Britannia Creek that were used primarily to generate electricity.
